Là-bas

S. is always packing a lot of luggage for a holidays. “I'm also taking a bottle of disinfectant with me” - She says. Travel is transformation, if you don't want to change and go with the flow you won't separate yourself with Amuchina. My grandfather Józef was born before World War I. He was a poor villager, but liked reading. 100 years ago Argentina was a rich country.

My grandfather – like many others – believed that you'll find a gold on the streets of Buenos Aires. To afford the trip he sold a field he owned, left his wife with small children and went far away from the village, like in the song Là-bas:
There/Everything is new and everything is wild
Free continent without wire fencing
Here our dreams are narrow/That's why I'll go there
Translation from lyryctranslate.com.

After one year Józef Markiewicz was back home, poorer than he used to be. Over the next few years he was farming. He died in 1938 leaving the widow with four children. The youngest (my father) was only one year-old. The key to happiness is having dreams, they say. But sometimes even if you change direction, you'll end up where you are heading.

Wolny kontynent bez krat
Tutaj, nasze marzenia są ciasne/I dlatego pojadę tam
Tłumaczenie tekstowo.pl.

Po roku Józef Markiewicz wrócił do domu, jeszcze biedniejszy niż wcześniej. Przez kolejne parę lat uprawiał ziemię. Zmarł w 1938 r. zostawiając wdowę z czworgiem dzieci. Mój ojciec był najmłodszy i miał jeden rok. Kluczem do szczęścia są marzenia, mówią. Czasem jednak nawet, jeśli zmienisz kierunek, skończysz tam, gdzie zmierzałeś wcześniej.
